"Our daughter is taking her second course with the flipped-mastery program. (She took Algebra I and Geometry the traditional way, in Virginia). I will admit that I was skeptical, at best, when I first heard about the program. Now we wish every math class could be taught this way. Our daughter goes at her own pace and really learns the material. I think the system succeeds because it demands the student interact and engage with the material. In a "normal" class, the teacher teaches the lesson just once, and if the student happens to be tired, day dreaming or absent - the instruction cannot be easily repeated. Our daughter has taken advantage of the self-pacing to get ahead when she knows she will miss school or have a lot of work in other classes. I would recommend a flipped-mastery class to the parent of any student. The benefits have been phenomenal. An extra bonus, our daughter is considering teaching because she has enjoyed helping other kids go over problems and found she enjoys that."

"We love the flipped mastery curriculum. This form of instruction has helped our child "learn how to learn." She is able to go at her own speed, so when she understands the material she can fly through the chapters and get ahead, then when she needs more time she is able to slow down and work through the processes. She is also able to work on her problem solving skills by trying to approach a difficult concept using several different methods because she has the time to experiment. This is much better than a classroom schedule where she needs to "stay with the class", because when she has to stay with the class she is bored when she understands the material but others don't, and she is pressured when she is the one not understanding the material and feeling like she is holding the whole class back. We couldn't be happier with the results of flip mastery."

"We believe that "Flipped Math" has increased our daughter's ability to interpret and analyze math functions with the use of technology. She has been given a balanced approach that includes not only "Back to Basics" skills development but an opportunity to think critically that has been developed through the use of challenging questions. We have seen an increase in the level of engagement whereby she is supported by peers, teachers, and technology in such a way that she finds relevant or "fits" with her ability to learn. We believe that this type of environment will provide the necessary skills she will need for the 21st century.
Basically, she has been with this program for 3 years and wants to continue into her senior year. She has excelled at math because of the way the class is designed. The videos are fun and interesting so that the kids can make connections. This is important for their learning so that they can apply to everyday life what they are learning. We want her to not only learn the information but be able to transfer it to an everyday situation if needed."

"My daughter never enjoyed Math. She would get frustrated at being left behind if she didn't get it right away. She would get frustrated when she did get it and had to wait for others to catch up. With flipped math, she works at her own pace with her own understanding. Having the zeros put in to show her what normal pacing would be motivates her to stay after or go in for more help when necessary. She has enduring understanding and when she gets stuck she can go back and watch a video to refresh her understanding instead of having to wait for someone to explain it to her. She has access 24/7. Perfect for missing a class due to illness or sports too!! My other daughter was in flipped and it is unavailable to her this year. She watches the videos anyway and works the problems anyway. Then she goes in and takes the traditional test. She currently has an A because of her access to the flipped videos that she is accustomed to."

My daughter has always been a good student but math was her worst subject. She dreaded it and did not believe she had what it took to succeed in math. She was particularly skeptical and fearful of the flipped mastery program but WOW did it make a difference for her. The first couple weeks of class she often came home glowing that she "got 100" on her mastery check and she would actually look forward to doing math homework and possibly getting ahead. We are approaching the end of the quarter now and she still is enthusiastic about it. Math will never be her favorite subject but now she actually enjoys it and she is doing well. Flipped-mastery is a great program in the hands of an exceptional and dedicated teacher.

"I'm very pleased with the flipped-mastery math class. An advantage to the flipped-mastery program is that our daughter is able to gain math knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills by mastering her own progress. The concept, though initially appearing very non-traditional, has been successful for Nadine. She feels self-assured, more confident, and less stressed. This is thanks to the multiple options she has to enhance her math knowledge. Thank you for implementing this new tool; the sky is the limit with the flipped-mastery math class!"
